A simple, delicious one-pan meal featuring baked dumplings in a flavorful sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil (for greasing)
  • 1 package frozen dumplings (any variety, arranged in a single layer)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional for sweetness adjustment)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp water (for cornstarch slurry)
  • Green onions (sliced)
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Grease a large oven-safe skillet or baking dish with sesame oil.
  3. Arrange the frozen dumplings in a single layer in the pan.
  4. Prepare the sauce by whisking together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, honey, minced garlic, minced ginger, and water.
  5. Combine the sauce with the dumplings, ensuring they’re well coated.
  6. Cover the pan tightly with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  7. Add the cornstarch slurry over the dumplings and shake the pan gently to combine.
  8. Finish baking uncovered for another 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens and dumplings are golden.
  9. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
