Ingredients
400 grams Spaghetti
6 cloves Garlic, thinly sliced
½ cup Olive Oil
1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (adjust to taste)
¼ cup Fresh Parsley, chopped
Salt to taste
Grated Parmesan Cheese for serving (optional)
Instructions
Boil the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the sliced garlic and sauté until it is golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
Add Spice: Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss well to coat with the garlic oil. Pour in reserved pasta water, a little at a time, mixing until you reach your desired sauce consistency.
Season and Garnish: Season with salt to taste and stir in the fresh parsley. Serve immediately, topping with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
Be careful not to burn the garlic and reserve pasta water for the sauce consistency.
