A simple treat with rich chocolate flavor and soft texture, perfect for sharing or enjoying with coffee.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Halloween-themed sprinkles (optional for decoration)
  • Whipped cream (for serving)
  • Chocolate sauce (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  2. Mix the flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until fully incorporated.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool the squares in the pan before cutting them into 12 squares.
  8. Add toppings and serve warm, topped with whipped cream, sprinkles, and chocolate sauce.

Notes

Check the baking time around 25 minutes to avoid over-baking. Letting the squares cool completely helps with cutting.
