A delightful dish that combines succulent chicken breasts with a velvety ranch-flavored sauce, perfect for busy weeknights or impressing guests with minimal effort.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (5–8 oz. each)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 3 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 (1 oz.) packet Ranch seasoning mix
  • Fresh parsley, to garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness of about 1 inch. Season both sides of the chicken with salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and add the olive oil. Once hot, add the chicken breasts to the skillet. Sear each side until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet. Once melted, stir in the flour and cook for about one minute until slightly bubbly.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth while scraping up the browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Then add the milk and stir to combine.
  5. Add the sour cream, onion powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and Ranch seasoning mix. Stir until the sauce is smooth.
  6. Place the seared chicken back into the skillet, along with any juices from the plate. Spoon the sauce over the chicken to coat well. Simmer gently until heated through, about 5 more minutes.
  7. Dish out the Creamy Ranch Chicken on plates, garnished with fresh parsley if desired. Enjoy!

Notes

Ensure the chicken breasts are even in thickness to avoid uneven cooking. Monitor the chicken closely to prevent it from becoming dry.
