Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey for a lighter option)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
4 hamburger buns
Lettuce, for the “hair”
Sliced tomatoes
Sliced cheese (preferably American for gooeyness)
Olive slices or cherry tomatoes, for the “eyes”
Ketchup and mustard, for decoration
Pickles, for the “fangs”
Instructions
Prepare the Patties: In a bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat. Shape into four equal patties.
Grill the Patties: Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side or until they reach your desired level of doneness. If using cheese, add a slice on top during the last minute of cooking to let it melt.
Toast the Buns: While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
Assemble the Monster Burgers: On the bottom half of each bun, place lettuce as the “hair,” followed by the cooked burger patty. Add sliced tomatoes and cheese.
Create Monster Faces: Use olives or cherry tomatoes to create “eyes” on top of the cheese. Add pickles as “fangs” by placing them around the burger. Drizzle with ketchup and mustard for decoration.
Serve: Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately while hot.
Notes
Don’t overwork the meat when mixing; handle gently for tender patties. Allow cooked patties to rest before assembling.
